Landcrafted Food - Grayson County, VA
Grayson Natural Farms, a producer of naturally-raised, grass-fed beef has completed construction of a new meat processing facility located in rural southwestern Virginia. The plant will support national distribution of Grayson’s all-natural, grass-fed beef products and help secure the economic sustainability of the family farm-ers who partner with the company.
The 10-year old business currently employs 11 full-time staff, and the new manufacturing plant is backed by a variety of state and local incentives, along with private investment. The 7,000 square foot operation, located in Independence, features modern further-processing and packaging capabilities, with space for product devel-opment and future expansion.
“Grayson County is very pleased to welcome this new food production facility to our industrial park. This is bringing good quality jobs into our local economy,” says Mitchell Smith, Deputy Administrator for Grayson County. “We are excited about this opportunity and the potential growth it brings to other businesses in our area.”
Additionally, the company has unveiled a new brand name and identity, to drive sales of its natural food products across the country. Formerly known as Grayson Natural Farms, the product line and future exten-sions will now be known as Landcrafted Food. The name and graphic identity capitalizes on the company’s rich farming legacy in Virginia, while pointing to a vision of bringing locally-crafted, humanely-raised and natural foods to a broader consumer audience.
“The interest and support from around the region has been tremendous,” says Gary Mitchell, managing part-ner. “Our manufacturing facility and long-term growth strategy depend on and deepen our roots here in the Grayson County community. We’re committed to enhancing farm profits for the families we partner with, and we hope to build a brand that the community can feel a sense of shared ownership and pride in.”
The company is hosting a grand opening celebration at the new facility that is open to the public. Festivities will include a ribbon cutting ceremony with remarks from several state and local officials, plus plant tours and light refreshments. The event will take place July 21st, 2017 from 11AM to 2PM. Additional information about the company is available at www.landcraftedfood.com.
